Your coverage options

Three ways to build your Medicare coverage

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) covers hospital and doctor visits but leaves gaps. Most people add one of these.

Part C

Medicare Advantage

An all-in-one plan from a private insurer that replaces how you use Original Medicare.

  • Many plans have a $0 monthly premium
  • Often include dental, vision, hearing and drug coverage
  • Usually uses a network of doctors (HMO or PPO)
Who it's good for

People who want low monthly costs and extra benefits, and whose doctors are in the plan's network. We check that for you.

Medigap

Medicare Supplement

Works alongside Original Medicare and pays much of what Medicare doesn't, like deductibles and coinsurance.

  • See any doctor in the U.S. who accepts Medicare
  • No referrals and few surprise bills
  • Higher monthly premium; add a Part D plan for drugs
Who it's good for

People who travel, see specialists often, or want predictable costs. Plan G is the most popular choice.

Part D

Prescription Drug Plan

Stand-alone drug coverage for people on Original Medicare or a Medicare Supplement.

  • Each plan has its own list of covered drugs
  • Your yearly out-of-pocket drug costs are capped
  • Pharmacy choice affects your price
Who it's good for

Anyone without drug coverage from another plan. Skipping it can mean a lifelong late penalty.

Keep your doctor

We check your doctors before you switch. Every time.

The cheapest plan isn't a good deal if your doctor isn't in it. Before we recommend anything, we look up:

  • Your primary doctor and specialists in each plan's network
  • Your prescriptions on each plan's drug list
  • Your preferred hospitals and medical groups
  • Your pharmacy and what you'll pay there

Questions

What people ask us most

Does it cost anything to work with you?

No. Insurance companies pay us when you enroll. Your plan price is the same whether you use an agent or sign up on your own.

Can I keep my doctor?

Often, yes. With a Medicare Supplement you can see any doctor who accepts Medicare. With a Medicare Advantage plan your doctor needs to be in the plan's network, so we check before you enroll.

What's the difference between Medicare Advantage and a Supplement?

Medicare Advantage is an all-in-one plan, often with a $0 premium and extra benefits, that uses a network. A Supplement adds to Original Medicare, costs more each month, and lets you see any doctor who takes Medicare. We'll help you weigh which fits you.

I'm turning 65. When should I call?

About three months before your 65th birthday is ideal. That gives us time to sign you up for Parts A and B and line up your plan so coverage starts on time.

Can you help if I'm still working?

Yes. If you have coverage through your job, you may be able to delay Part B without a penalty. We'll walk through your situation and timing.
